| Bill Welbon, President Bill is the son to our founder Bruce Welbon. In his teens he would spend time working in the warehouse here at Veterans Carpet One. He went to college at Western State Colorado University where he received a degree in Business and Economics. Bill then came to work at Veterans Carpet One and took over the business from his father in 1976. Bill is known throughout the industry for his ethics and integrity in business. In his free time he enjoys traveling, being up in the mountains and going to car shows. |
| Adam Welbon, Operations Manager Adam is the grandson to our founder, Bruce Welbon, and the son of our President, Bill Welbon. Adam grew up proud of the family business and after graduating from college, he took on a management role at a local sporting goods retailer. After a few years there, he decided it was time to join the family business. Adam's background was deeply rooted in customer service and obviously growing up in the family he did, so was flooring. Since he came on in 2010, Adam has been involved in every aspect of the business. He is now the Operations Manager but still does some project managing for our insurance customers. Adam is thrilled to be a part of his family's business and is planning on taking over ownership when his father retires. |
| Christa Johnson, Controller Christa came from a public accounting firm here in Denver and has been the controller for Veterans Carpet One for over 40 years. Prior to moving to Colorado, she was born and raised in Germany and still speaks fluent German. Christa mostly oversees the accounting and computer responsibilities for us. In fact, Christa started with us when computerizing business had just started. She helped move us into using computers instead of doing everything by hand. Christa says that she has worked at Veterans Carpet One for so long because she really enjoys the family atmosphere and ethics of our business and her fellow employees. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and traveling. |
| Frank Stack, Flooring Specialist/Project Manager Frank has grown up alongside Veterans Carpet One. His father was a long-time employee and friend to our founder, Bruce Welbon. Frank started at a young age doing upholstery and worked alongside his father in the flooring business. Whether it is flooring, upholstery, or window coverings, Frank's knowledge and fun personality are sure to make your experience at Veterans Carpet One, a great one. |
| Chris Fall, Flooring Specialist/Project Manager Chris was originally from New York City but raised in Colorado, he brings a wealth of experience and passion to the store. His journey began early, as he assisted his father, a mill rep, with various tasks related to flooring samples. Throughout high school and college, Chris continued to gain valuable experience working in stores, solidifying his expertise. In 2007, Chris found his home at Veterans, where his dedication and skills have flourished. He takes great joy in meeting new people and forging lasting friendships while helping them achieve their visions for updated looks or addressing home damage. Beyond work, Chris enjoys a round of golf, has a deep appreciation for movies of all types (especially "campy" horror films), and is a certified basketball fanatic with 14 years of experience as a high school official. |
| Walt Music, Flooring Specialist/Project Manager Walt is originally from South Texas and a resident since 1961. He is a seasoned professional in the flooring industry. With a background as a carpenter since 1976, he delved into ceramic tile and wood flooring installations on side projects, eventually transitioning to roles as an Estimator and Project Manager by 1981. Since joining Veterans in 2012, Walt has enjoyed a fulfilling career, especially in helping customers with the design aspect of their projects. Walt values the opportunity to collaborate closely with clients, assisting them in selecting the right materials to bring their vision to life. Outside of work, he treasures spending quality time with his grandchildren, family, and friends, often gathering for shared meals and movie nights. For Walt, the most meaningful moments revolve around being together, regardless of the activity, creating lasting bonds and cherished memories. |
| Ryan Ruble, Flooring Specialist/Project Manager Ryan originally from Janesville, WI, has a deep-rooted passion for the flooring industry. His journey began as an install helper during high school, laying the groundwork for his eventual establishment of a successful installation business six years ago. In August 2023, Ryan brought his wealth of experience and dedication to Veterans. Ryan takes pride in helping customers find the perfect materials to meet their needs, relishing in the satisfaction of seeing the final, finished product. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys outdoor activities like snowboarding, golfing, and hiking in the mountains. His diverse background and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable expert in the flooring industry. |
| Andrew Zwisler, Installation Manager Andrew is a native of Colorado; raised right here in Denver. As a teenager, he developed a passion for sports, especially wrestling. He started his flooring journey early, at the age of 16. He initially started out assisting his father-in-law with installations to help support his growing family since he had recently become a first-time dad! With 15 years of diverse flooring experience, Andrew brings a sharp eye for quality to his role at Veterans, where he joined in 2022, ensuring top-notch installations that continue to exceed customer's expectations. |
| Gus, Office Liaison Gus is as much a part of the Veterans Carpet One family as any other employee, especially since he is Adam Welbon's trusty sidekick. He never fails to greet the mail carrier or any customer who walks through the doors, especially in return for a treat. When he isn't busy welcoming visitors, you can often find him in Bill's office lounging on his couch, overseeing the boss. Visit us and say hello to our tail-waggin' employee. |
